Soaring 80-feet-high, this 115-year-old tall ship oozes romance.

Build in 1903 in Denmark,”Providence” has a rich history. She has hauled fish and cargo, served in the German Navy when she was seized during WWII, and the Danish Navy, after the war.

Now, Vancouverites will have the opportunity to sail this beauty on Canada’s first low carbon Sail Cargo service between Vancouver and the Southern Gulf Islands. She’ll be making weekly sailings and offers ample accommodation and comfortable seating.

“We are very excited to re-introduce an age-old sail cargo tradition to the Salish Sea, with a new modern approach” says Partner and Captain Simon Fawkes, “By choosing to travel and/or ship with us, together we are engaging in a cleaner more sustainable future.”

“Providence is a work boat that is built to carry cargo, as well, we are delighted to welcome passengers aboard. It is a wonderful experience to travel the Gulf Islands on this beautiful historic work vessel.”

A greener alternative, Providence is most happy when with the wind in her sails. If the wind is fickle, or when maneuvering in and out of port, she is powered by locally sourced Bio-Diesel fuel.
